A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend a styled bridal shoot that was coordinated by my good friend, fellow-creative and owner of Hey Pretty! Beauty, Sam Antics. As a lover of all things bridal, I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to gawk at gorgeous, one-of-a-kind wedding dresses created by local Columbus designer, Cierra Lauren, owner and designer of Cierra Lauren Designs. Staring at these beautiful gowns made me want to get married all over again (Vow renewal someday? A girl can dream!). Samantha is one of the most creative individuals I know and did a phenomenal job of coordinating this shoot. She brought in local floral designer, Amy Music of Posy Florals, to create stunning bouquets to complement the dresses and two very talented photographers, Nicole from Elocin Photographic and Matt from Bricker Photograhics, to capture every part of the day. While at the shoot, I had an opportunity to talk to Amy and Cierra to find out more about them and what inspired their beautiful designs. Keep reading to find out more about all of the creatives behind this gorgeous shoot. **Click links to learn more**

Me: What is the name of your line?
Cierra: my brand is Cierra Lauren
Me: Can you describe to me the style of your line?
Cierra: Cierra Lauren Designs are rustic, couture luxury designs. The designs are inspired by a rustic, bohemian style. Many of my designs incorporate vintage heirlooms and antique lace. The collections range from one-of-a-kind couture wedding gowns, to hand-dyed dresses and unique accessories. I also create custom designs to help one’s vision come to life.
Me: How did you get started in this industry? And how long have you been a designer?
Cierra: I have always loved creating clothing. I first developed a passion for sewing in my high school home economics class. I went to Columbus College of Art and Design and studied fashion design. My experience designing for leading brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch and Justice, have given me the knowledge I needed to create my brand. I launched Cierra Lauren about five years ago and it continues to be an adventure. I’m looking forward to the future and what’s in store.
Me: What inspires you?
Cierra: I have a passion for adventure and travel and love to explore. Most of my inspiration comes from the bohemian free-spirited vibes from the Caribbean. I love the Turkish coins, pearls, crochet and salty hair! I also love to explore vintage markets and antique shows to find unique laces and tea-stained fabrics to incorporate into my designs.
Me: What are the passions that have led to your designs?
Cierra: I truly have a passion for creating wedding gowns. When I got married five years ago, I looked all over and just couldn’t find the perfect dress, so I designed and created my own. I love working with brides to help create their dream dress and make their wedding day special. I can transform an heirloom dress into a more modern look or create something new.
Me: If there are any soon-to-be brides out there looking for that unique, one-of-a-kind dress, how can they find you?
Cierra: I can be contacted via my website, cierralauren.com. On Instagram at @Cierra_Lauren, on Facebook at Cierra Lauren Designs or by email at info@cierralauren.com.
Posy
Me: What is the name of your business?
Amy: Posy
Me: What inspired you to start your own floral business?
Amy: I started Posy to give brides a resource for bespoke, premium designs for their weddings, and to give myself the freedom to have more creative liberties with my work.
Me: What inspires your designs?
Amy: I am so inspired by nature and color and the natural evolution that happens when designing with flowers. The joyful energy and excitement that comes with collaborating with brides on their weddings is so contagious.
Me: What floral services do you provide?
Amy: In addition to weddings and special events, I host a number of workshops in my studio. It is so inspiring to witness the unique perspectives and various approaches each participant takes in their designs. Seeing the joy and confidence come out in everyone as they design, and building up community with creativity is so fulfilling. I am also launching a delivery service of bespoke floral designs this month, which I am so excited about. Sharing my love of design and beauty of nature is a gift, not a job.
Me: What flowers were used in the pieces you designed for this shoot?
Amy: For the shoot I used a few of my favorite blooms. Hellebores, Ranunculus, Sweet Peas, Scabiosa, Pieris and a variety of foliages, all in deep jewel tones. I wanted the style to be luxe, and lush with a natural garden-style. The ribbons that wrapped the bouquets came from The Lesser Bear, a local business here in Columbus. Her silk ribbons are just heavenly!
Me: Where are you located and how can someone find you if they are looking for your services?
Amy: Our address for Posy Florals is 237 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio, 43215. You can also find us online at posyflorals.com
