There are a few things about the spring time that I absolutely love and one of those things is flowers. Living in Ohio, the winters can be long and quite frankly, a little boring. Okay, let me correct that last statement, Christmas is a great time but come February I am literally dying to open my windows and display beautiful floral bouquets throughout my house, but I can’t (insert sad face). You can imagine how giddy with excitement I get when I begin to search Pinterest for DIY projects that I can create for the spring time. Fast forward to a few weeks back when I came across this beautiful tulip wreath that I had to re-create! It now graces my front door making a beautiful statement of my adorning love for all things ‘spring’.
What you need:
Wire cutters
Floral cutters
Floral wire
Hot glue gun/ hot glue sticks
Burlap ribbon with wired edge- I used 3″ thick but any size will do (personal preference)
Grapevine wreath- I purchased mine at Hobby Lobby
Faux tulips- I bought three colors to make it more colorful
You can find the steps below!
{Cut about 24″ of ribbon or larger if you want a larger sized bow and fold in half}
{Fold that piece in half once more}
{Cinch the folded ribbon together at the middle and secure with floral wire}
{Repeat step one by cutting another piece of ribbon, the same size, and folding and cinching in the middle}
{Attach the two separate bows together and pull the layers of the ribbon apart}
{Snip various lengths of the faux tulips with a floral cutter and assemble throughout the wreath. This is where you are going to use the hot glue to secure the stems and use the floral wire to wrap any loose pieces to the wreath}
And here is the finished product! You can choose to use other flowers if you prefer. I just preferred the tulips because they are one of my favorite flowers!
