Let’s all rejoice because tomorrow we can officially say that winter is over! I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting since the beginning of January for the official arrival of spring. Ohio winters are brutal and this year was no exception.
While there were a few days were Mother Nature was kind to us and gave us a mild winter day, most of the days were spent under several layers. Needless to say, there were a few days where it was just nice enough to throw on my favorite chunky knit cardigan and my go-to distressed jeans.
One thing I do love about the winter season is the chance to play with heavier patterns and textures in my closet that I can’t pull off as easily in during the warmer months, take this ensemble for instance. I scored this velvet tank on the clearance rack at Old Navy (hello, my favorite place in the whole store) on a recent shopping trip and thought it would be the perfect top to dress up this chunky knit cardigan (which is so versatile, by the way.) I added this black rancher styled hat (OBSESSED) and some layered jewelry and called it a day. I’m sure I’ll still manage to find a way to wear this hat a few more times before I switch over to to the straw variety for spring/summer but for now, I’m relishing in the fact that spring is knocking on the door and I get to go shopping for some new spring and summer pieces soon.
Tell me, what trends are you most looking forward to for the spring and summer?
