Hey friend

Welcome! I’m really glad you’re here and have chosen to take the time to read more about the idea behind this blog.

It all started circa 2010, I was sitting behind my computer at a corporate financial firm with a job that left me feeling so uninspired. I knew there was something missing I just couldn’t put my finger on what that was…that was until I stumbled upon a little blog called Cupcakes and Cashmere.

I’m sure you’ve heard of it, right?!

It was as if the heavens opened up, there, sitting behind my desk, the inspiration hit me. I needed put my creativity to paper, er, well keyboard I should say. I had so much I wanted to share but no clue that this medium even existed!

Immediately I began brainstorming, figuring out what I needed to do to make this happen. I was determined.

Out of that excitement my first blog was born {you can find it archived, here.} I wrote for about three solid years but then life got a little crazy – I became engaged, graduated college, and started my career pursuit into the marketing field. A couple years later, I felt that burning desire to get back to my creative roots but the blog I had created was not doing it for me anymore. I needed to freshen up my brand. I decided to stop publishing on my old blog, freshen up my content and give it a new look and feel.

That first blog will always have a special place in my heart, but I was excited to grow into this new phase. That is when I Dream in Chic was born, April 2015!

The name I Dream in Chic is really play on words. You know how some say they dream in color? Well I like to think I dream in chic, get it? Any way, it’s the thought that every woman should imagine a life she truly wants and then go after it. Whether you want to elevate your home or wardrobe, or give yourself that boost of confidence you need to slay it in your career, I want to share with you the ways I’m doing that for myself in hopes to inspire each one of you. The idea of the word chic is not an identifier of class or status but the way a woman feels on the outside as well as the inside.

My goal for my readers is that they leave here feeling inspired and empowered to be the most chic-est, badass version of themselves. I really appreciate you supporting my blog and thank you for following along.
