I’ll find any excuse to throw a party. Let’s be real, any chance to get together with my favorite people over delicious food and boozy drinks is a win in my book. So you know I wasted no time when it came to hosting a Galentine’s Day brunch with a few of my high school best friends. We’ve been the best of friends for almost two decades! Wow, seriously, where does the time go? I feel old just saying that, but I digress.
So anyways, back to reason we are here, hosting a Galentine’s brunch. When it was suggested by one of my friends that we get together for a Galentine’s celebration, I happily volunteered.
See, here’s the thing, I’m all about an experience when it comes to party planning and entertaining. I pay attention to every detail, down to the music and lighting. After all, those are two things that can make or break a party or event {in my opinion.} Galentine’s brunch was going to be no different.
Let’s talk details.
First things first, I decided on food. The girls and I decided to make something that was both decadent and savory because who can really decide between the two for brunch, am I right!? We opted for french toast with fresh berries and homemade sausage gravy and biscuits. Let me tell you, best decision ever! Of course, I made sure to have some other sweet treats like donuts, cupcakes and chocolate covered pretzels on hand too, you know, the perfect munching food after several mimosas {very necessary.}
I also set up a Bloody Mary bar and a mimosa station. Since everyone has different preferences when it comes to their brunch beverage of choice, I figured I’d let them choose what sounded best. I can never choose between them so I always opt for a Bloody Mary to start off with, and finish with a Mimosa, or three.
As for the decorations, I wanted to keep it cozy but also very feminine. After all this was a Galentine’s brunch, pink was also…very necessary!
I hit up the Dollartree and found some cute pink and red heart confetti and some red vases that I used as centerpieces. I went to my local grocery store and found the most beautiful blush pink bouquet of roses, divided them up between two vases, and used one for my dining room table and the other for more Bloody Mary station.
I’m all about being resourceful.
Last step was finding the perfect Galentine’s playlist, lighting some candles and pouring a beverage for my babes. After all, my favorite thing about party planning is seeing how much everyone is enjoying themselves.
Highlight of the day was just sitting around my table talking about the many years of memories we have had together and how lucky I am to still call them friends.
Want to plan a Galentines brunch for your babes?
Here’s some tips to get your party planning started:
- Add your favorite tunes to your Apple Music or Spotify playlist and have it on loop. I suggest you add songs that spark conversation, those are the best in my opinion.
- Plan ahead! I don’t think I need to elaborate on this but if you want to feel relaxed and ready to enjoy yourself, get as much done ahead of time as possible.
- Details matter. Add a bouquet of fresh flowers, some candles and a few decorative pieces to bring the whole vibe together. I’ll let you in on a little secret, you don’t need to spend a fortune to make it look like you did.
- Consider a little parting gift for your girlfriends. It doesn’t have to be anything too crazy, I gifted my friends with a Galentines-themed mug, some chocolates and a sheet face mask. Get creative with it but I think it adds the perfect touch to your Galentines brunch.
I hope this has inspired you to rally your girls together for a Galentine’s Day brunch perfect for a cozy Saturday afternoon. Happy Valentine’s weekend babes. ♥
