Met Gala 2016

If there is one fashion event I would love to attend it would have to be the Met Gala in New York City. This event is known in the fashion industry as the “Super Bowl” of fashion. The Met Gala, or the Met Ball, takes place on the first Monday in May every year and it benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute. The Met Gala signifies the opening of the Costume Institute’s blockbuster event, so naturally the stars come dressed to impress. If you are like me, you are probably wondering who is beyond this star-studded, fashionable event? Well, none other than Anna Wintour, the Editor-in-Chief of the American Vogue. (Of course!) She goes so far as to hand-picking and inviting the guests for the evening! Talk about a #GirlBoss !! Each year there is a theme of the night that is created and the celebs choose their gowns and attire to fit within the theme. This year’s theme was Manus x Machina : Fashion in the Age of Technology and there were several stars who took that vision and ran with it! Everything from metals and metallics, to sexy cut-outs and light-up dresses, the event had it all. So, until I become famous and get my personal invite from Ms. Wintour herself, (Hello, Anna I’m over here!) I’ll just sit back and admire one of fashion’s biggest nights from a far.
