Hi dolls, Happy Easter to you! Welcome to the new and improved I Dream in Chic website. It’s been months since I’ve been active on here {and I feel bad about that} but I’m back with a fresh new look for the blog. It’s kind of funny actually, I’ve taken a few hiatuses throughout the last several years and I always seem to get re-inspired right around the spring time. I guess there is just something about the spring weather that makes me feel renewed and renergized {can I get an ameeeen!?}
So to the point of this post, I not only needed to give my website a face lift, I needed to give my home a face lift too {by way of new spring decor of course!} So, while perusing the maze of IKEA {aisles don’t exist there FYI} I stumbled upon this cute metal candle holder. I loved the lace-like detail around the edges and the fact that it was $4.99 didn’t hurt either. I had to find a way to incorporate this into my spring home decor.
I remembered I had bought some pastel easter eggs a few years back and thought, “I’m sure I can find a way to use those with this.” It got even better when I was at the DollarTree a few days later and found the LAST FIVE pastel votive candles jars {this woman was looking at them too and I was secretly praying she didn’t put them in her cart!} Obviously my prayers were answered and I left with five beautiful spring colored votives for $5!!
I mean seriously, are these not the cutest? {PS: I couldn’t find the exact ones as I purchased here but I did link similar ones below.}
So here I am with a white candle holder, some pastel easter eggs and pastel votive candle jars but something was missing…ahhhh, yes, spanish moss because what easter decoration doesn’t include some greenery? Thankfully, I already had that at home, but you can get a huuuuuge bag of it at Hobby Lobby or Michaels for about $10 {I linked it here for you.} I sat down and began putting together the centerpiece. There wasn’t much to it as you can see {just be sure you are prepared to sweep your floor afterwards because that spanish moss goes everywhere.} And Voila! There you have it, a budget-friendly, chabby chic Easter centerpiece {all for under $25.} Keep scrolling to see few other little spring tidbits from around my home. I’ve linked the exact items or similar items below.
Please disregard the cat hair that is so clearly obvious on my dark couch, but aren’t these pillows so spring-y?!
Oh, one last thing, I can’t keep real flower bouquets around at all times {cat mom life} so I went to Michaels and purchased these faux tulips. They actually have a real flowery feeling to the touch. I love them and my cats don’t want to chew on them so there’s that! They are more pricey than the silk flower stems but totally worth it, especially if you catch them on a deal {hello 50% off.}
I hope you enjoyed this little Pastel Easter Egg Centerpiece DIY, hopefully you’ve been inspired to add a speckled egg {or two} into your spring decor. I know I’m obsessed with them. Now, back to the Easter candy.
