If you have been keeping up with my blog for some time now, or you are a personal friend of mine, you know that I am planning for my upcoming fall wedding (more on that in another post)! Planning a wedding is a lot of work and there is a lot that goes into it. One thing many brides often forget about is starting early with a healthy skin care regimen( I need to have glowing skin for the big day!) Having worked in the beauty industry there are a lot regimens that I have already incorporated into my skin care routine, but just like our bodies can get used to the same ole’ workouts, our skin can get used to the same ole’ products. It’s always nice to change it up a bit and try new things, so you can imagine my excitement when I was given some products to try out from Perfectly Posh!
Since I am obsessed with face masks (just browse my Instagram, you’re bound to find a few mud mask-selfies), I couldn’t wait to try out the Cackle Spackle face mask. It is an invigorating, anti-aging mud mask made from charcoal powder, volcanic ash (yes, you heard it right, volcanic ash), and spearmint essential oil. When I first opened the mask, the first thing I noticed was how thick and creamy the texture was. I actually enjoyed putting it on my face simply because of how it felt on my skin…Ahhhh-mazing! Once it was applied, I instantly felt the tingling action of the spearmint. It was as if it awakened my skin and opened my pores. The directions say to keep it on 5-10 minutes and I do not recommend any longer than that. The tingling can, well, tingle a bit, but in a good way of course. When I went to rinse it off, I warmed a towel and let if soften up the mask just enough that it was easy to wipe off. After removing the mask, my skin felt tighter, brighter and more rejuvenated. I will note, I did have a break out pop up a day later but that is to be expected when doing a facial mask as they tend to pull the dirt and toxins to the skin’s surface. All-in-all, this is definitely a mask that I’d love to add to my arsenal of skin care products. After all, its never too early to start prepping my skin for the big day!
