Simple Spring Decor Around My Home

There’s something about this time of year that always makes me want to freshen things up—nothing major, just a few spring touches that make everything feel a little lighter and brighter. After the long winter we had, I’m so ready for color, soft florals, and patterns that instantly lift my mood.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve found myself leaning more into simplicity with our home decor. Having a toddler running around means there’s already a lot of “life” in our space—between toys, books, and all the little daily things we use—I’ve really grown to appreciate not adding too much. Keeping things minimal helps everything feel calmer and a bit more manageable, which I’ve come to value more than ever.

So instead of going all out this year, I’ve been focusing on simple spring decor—small, intentional pieces in a few areas of our home that already felt complete. I love how just a few subtle swaps can shift the whole mood. Now if only we could keep the temps around here at a cool 65 degrees, I’d be in heaven.

So let’s get into it.

In our main living space, I layered in soft neutrals with a few delicate Easter accents. I love the juxtaposition of my weathered travertine vase with budding cherry blossom stems draping out of it. I styled a vintage floral serving tray with a patterned single-wick candle and the sweetest gold bunny accents. This kind of simple spring decor feels seasonal without being too on-the-nose, which is always my goal.

Over in the kitchen, I kept things just as minimal. A couple of weathered ceramic birds paired with a small porcelain bud vase filled with baby’s breath bring in that soft spring feel without overwhelming the space. This little moment on my windowsill is one of my favorites—these are the spots I see the most, so even the smallest updates go a long way.

In the dining room, I pulled out one of my favorite pieces that I’ve had for years—my DIY pastel Easter eggs. I originally made these a few seasons ago (you can find the full tutorial here), and I still love bringing them out each spring. I styled them in a travertine bowl with Spanish moss on our marble dining table, and it instantly creates the prettiest centerpiece. It’s simple, but it makes a statement—the soft pastel tones against the natural texture of the moss feel both elevated and festive. It’s one of those pieces that really anchors the space without needing anything else around it.

And of course, I added a few cozy details in our entryway to welcome in spring. It’s one of those areas that sets the tone the second you walk in, so I like to keep it feeling fresh and inviting. I’ve always loved the nostalgic, elegant look of blue chinoiserie vases, so I brought those in this year to add a subtle pop of color in an unexpected way.
