I live in Ohio where the summers are brutal. This past week the heat index hit 105 degrees, yes, you heard that right…105. It was just disgustingly hot. So naturally, the thought of wearing any kind of denim was just not appealing, and pants…yeah, don’t even think about it. I mean, there is nothing worse than peeling off your pants after they’ve been stuck to your legs from sweating all day, gross!
Enter the best thing ever…the maxi dress. I live for summer maxi dresses. They’re the perfect combination between chic and stylish, but not too dressy and not to casual. Like I said, the best thing ever. Naturally, when my friend invited me along to the Westerville Arts Festival, I had to wear something that was comfortable BUT also cute.
And that’s where this little number comes in. I mean, what screams summer more than a maxi dress and a straw hat, right?!
And, let’s talk for a moment about this bag. So, it’s from a store called Altar’d State. Have you heard of it? I was introduced to it through my best friend {I mean, how pretty is she by the way?} All she did was rave about how beautiful this store was and that we needed to check it out…I’m glad we did because, one, it was a beautiful store and I was in LOVE with just about everything I saw, and two, I found this $70 bag ON SALE for $10! I mean, who doesn’t love a good deal like that?
But beyond the good deal I scored, the store actually stands for GOOD! Their entire mission is built on giving back to those who are less fortunate. So get this, when you shop online or in stores, you are providing food to the hungry, supporting those battling cancer and giving under privileged kids a brighter future. I don’t know about you, but that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that my need for summer maxi dresses and straw bags, will ultimately do some good for someone too!
Seriously, jump online and check them out. They have their summer items on sale now!
Speaking of summer sale items, are you so bummed to see fall clothes in the stores already? I’m just not ready for all of that. There are still some summer outfits I’m trying to rock. I can’t have the cable knit sweaters throwing off my game {haha!}
