Have you heard of whipped coffee? Until last month, i hadn’t either…that was until i was on TikTok and saw one of my favorite bloggers making it. I thought to myself, no way coffee can be whipped into a beautiful fluff like that!?
Of course I love a good challenge so I went to the store and bought all the ingredients. I was determined to try this one for myself.
being quarantined has really forced me to get creative with my foods, I mean, i love a good Starbucks drink like the next person but that can get pricey so this was even more appealing.
The best thing about this drink is that it only requires a few ingredients and a whole lot of elbow grease…okay, that may be exaggerating a bit but i wasn’t lying when I said it’s legit and arm workout.
Shall we get on to the basics?
You’ll need, instant coffee. Any brand will do. I picked this one up from Aldi (duh, i love that place), granulated sugar, boiling water, almond, coconut or oat milk (i used sweetened almond milk) and if you want to be extra indulgent add a little Hershey chocolate syrup. I didn’t say this was a healthy drink.
Next, you want to get a tablespoon, a whisk (or mixer), and a mixing bowl. I recommend the mixing bowl because you can really get to whippin’ with one of these and you don’t have to worry about coffee flying everywhere. Mix your coffee, sugar and boiling water together…and get to whipping….keeeeeeeeep whipping. Yes, i said arm workout didn’t I? I whipped for a total of about eight minutes, and yes, you can take breaks!
Trust me when i say, the finished product is worth it. I mean, it would’ve taken me at least ten minutes to get in my car and drive to the nearest Starbucks for something frothy and creamy like this, so it was worth it IMO.
I forgot to mention, i added cinnamon to my mixture. It made for the perfect finish.
I finished it with a glass straw because coffee can discolor the teeth so bad. I’ve been trying to do this with my iced tea as well but i can’t quite get behind drinking my red wine with a straw just yet. Maybe someday.
So the moral of this post is, you can treat yourself to an indulgent drink this weekend AND get a good arm workout in. To me, that’s a win-win. I’ve pinned the whipped coffee recipe below. I’d love to hear if you’ve tried this out for yourself, or if you plan too soon. Also, let me know of any other things that you’d added to elevate it a bit. Happy Sunday!
